Xolo Spkq (Pronounced Zolo Speak), is a singer/songwriter, musician and producer of electronic grooves and chill out music. He hails from Birmingham UK, and is represented by the TouXayKin Music independent music label.

Growing in scope and depth with each new release, his style has been called “incomparable,” “inimitable” and “kaleidoscopic.” Roughly described as a folky, jazzy, reggae artist, it lends a colorful and exotic ambiance to any venue.

Xolo Spkq is an innovative and boundary-pushing artist who refuses to confine himself to any particular genre of music. His compositions are always a mix of the unexpected, with highly textured ryddims and diverse beats that never fail to excite his listeners. He's a master of the craft, and his music has been known to surprise and captivate his audience in a way that no other artist can. His work has been featured in a variety of playlists, recordings, and live performances, constantly pushing the boundaries of music and exploring unheard-of soundscapes. Xolo Spkq has established himself as a revolutionary artist who is not afraid to take risks and explore new and unexplored sonic territories.

 Asked to describe his songs personally, Xolo Spkq calls it, "Africana Diaspora dance riddims mixed with European and worldly signatures that will harness the best in humankind and enhance a level of joy and peace, within and without – an exploration linking music, health and happiness whilst looking into the depth of human experience.”

The last four years Xolo has released a string of singles, two albums, an EP, poems, visuals & word-sounds and; has collaborated with a number of artiste in the UK.

Xolo's new offering is an instrumental EP entitied "Back 2 De Farward". This EP combines African Diaspora dance riddims with thought-provoking social, economical and spiritual themes. Utilising a blend of genres, along with his ear for creating captivating melodies, makes him an artist worth watching out for. His music is sure to appeal to fans of all genres, who will find something special in each song.

Taking into account the manner in which Xolo Spkq came into music, it's easy to see how his music has taken its present sound and form. Originally known as Micro T, drummer and vocalist for renowned UK band Salem Foundation, Xolo toured extensively and played alongside such legendary groups as Steel Pulse and Aswad. Popular singles from Salem Foundation included “Enjoy Yourself” and the timeless “Turbo Reggae.”

Additionally with Salem Foundation, he backed many Jamaican artists including Jennifer Lara, Sassafras, and Edi Fitzroy, as well as British reggae players such as Macka B and Joy Mack.

 “I have music in my head all the Time,” writes Xolo Spkq. “I often wake with new music or words of inspiration.”

 In his long and storied career, Xolo Spkq has performed all over the UK and is currently playing in folk and and acoustic clubs in throughout the UK.

 When not playing in influential and eclectic Afri-Carib ensembles, Xolo Spkq busies himself in the field of mental health. With thirty years' experience in social care, social housing and homeopathy, Spkq has piloted his own clinic in both Senegal and Gambia, West Africa, not to mention his practices back in the UK mental health circles.

Further artistic expressions from Xolo Spkq is currently in the pipeline and will be out in the community soon.
